A message from FoCCP Chairman - Retired

Sadly my time as chairman of the Friends of Cotgrave Country Park is now over. After six years in the post I decided to step down at the AGM in January. I have enjoyed the job immensely but unfortunately I felt that it had become an unpaid job and not a volunteering roll. The problems over the last year from organisations higher up became insurmountable. I have worked hard with the group over those years to take the park forward and have seen many tasks fulfilled for the benefit of the park. I feel I am able to leave with things in a strong position for the future.  No replacement for my position was elected at the AGM but I am confident that by the time you read this there will be someone in place.

Over the years I have spoken to many appreciative park users and that made the job worthwhile in knowing that those who use the park were happy. Many of those comments referred to our work party volunteers and our park wardens. In 2019 their total voluntary hours were 2687 and it is to their dedication that I wish to offer my utmost thanks. Their work in the park is massive.

Thank you all
