Volunteer with us

The Friends of Cotgrave Country Park is a community volunteer group that supports Nottinghamshire County Council in the management of the Park.

If you enjoy using the park and would like to help us look after it, why not join us? There’s something for everyone, and you can do as much or as little as you like.

To get started, or to ask for more details, contact our secretary Trevor via email at foccp.sec@gmail.com

Volunteer Wardens

Cotgrave Country Park doesn’t have any full-time employed wardens, so our volunteer wardens are especially important. Wardens keep an eye on the park and report any issues they find back to the council, as well as chatting with visitors who might want help or directions. Some wardens also have a keen interest in wildlife, and will record interesting or unusual sightings.

If you use the park regularly (more than 2 hours a week), then you can join our warden team by contacting our secretary Trevor via email at foccp.sec@gmail.com.

Volunteer Task Days

If you’re a gardener, a DIY-er, or just fancy helping us maintain the park, then Task Days are for you! Task Day activities are quite varied and include putting up bird and bat boxes, painting benches, improving wildlife habitats, hedge-laying, and more. No experience is required, you can choose how much you do and how long you stay, and tasks can be suited to your abilities. It’s also a great way to find out more about the park.

There’s no need to book in advance, simply meet us in the Car Park on Hollygate Lane at 10am. Nottinghamshire County Council staff provide equipment, training and refreshments.

Dates for Task Days are listed in the sidebar on the left.

Help us run our Events and Activities

We’re always on the look-out for people with skills or time to help us organize our events and activities. If you have a flare for publicity, a knack for fundraising, a talent for event-planning, or anything else you think you could help us with, then we’d love to hear from you.

There’s a wide range of roles available, and we can work with you to find something that suits your interests and the amount of time you can offer. Even offering to help once or twice a year is useful, but we also have some ambitious plans for the future and are keen to hear from anyone with experience of project management.
