Bring Your Dogs

Dogs are welcome through out Cotgrave Country Park.

They can enjoy a swim in the specially created dog pool located on the path from the Hollygate Lane Car Park.

Please respect other park users and the wildlife by keeping your dog under control, and by using the Dog Bins provided.

Heron Lake in the centre of the Park is used by the Cotgrave Welfare Diamond Angling Club. The lake is under lease from NCC for sole use by the angling club members. Please do not allow dogs to enter the water in this area.

Bring Your Bikes

Exploring the Park by bike is a great way for cyclists of all abilities to enjoy routes around the park.

Cylists can access the park from the following locations.

  • Car Park on Hollygate Lane
  • Via the Grantham Canal from Main Road (connects to highway cyclepath) or Hollygate Lane

Bring Your Horse

Horse riders can enjoy the quiet off road tracks of the country park.

There is no parking area for horse boxes or horse lorries. The car parks have height restriction barriers. However the developers of the housing estate will let you park on Colliers Way of Stragglethorpe Road as this is yet an unadopted highway. Please be careful as heavy lorries use this road.

Horses can access the park from the following locations

  • Car Park on Hollygate Lane
  • North Entrance on Stragglethorpe Road
  • Entrance on Colliers Way

Riders are asked not to ride on the Grantham Canal towpath, which intersects the Park.  A restrictive gate is in position mid way down the tow path and exits are gated.
